Koori, Japanese word for ice, is appositely named as each exquisite dish is created with a cool precision and a passion for Japan.

By contrast the restaurant’s design is especially relaxed, somewhere to savour Japanese cuisine in a warm amber atmosphere, amidst snowy scenery.

Sushi masters perform at Le Comptoir with a rigorous perfection, slicing and assembling delicate, infinitely fresh ingredients. Menu highlights include the Dragon Koori Rolls and a remarkable scallop dish prepared with shichimi togarashi, combava, chizo and lotus shoots.

Chef Jean-Luc Lefrançois began his Japanese culinary journey when he joined a competition team in Sapporo, where he was overwhelmed by the beauty of the country and refined disciplines of the cuisine. Practice and passion has created Koori, a French Japanese restaurant in a class of its own.
